Salama Learn
can help Swahili learners of various levels. There are various methods of learning.
Free self-learning
Free self-learning allows the learner to practise various language structures or to test the
correctness of the structures. The learning system also gives feedback, depending on the type of mistake.
- (1) correctness of words (typos are reported on)
- (2) correctness of word order (types of mistakes are reported on)
- (3) concordance (whether noun class concordance is correct).
When using the free self-learning system, the learner is free to use any vocabulary. Also various structures can be tested.
No guarantee is given that oll structures are recognised.
Guided lessons
Guided tour through basic morphological structures (noun classes, concordance, word order).
The tour leads the learner through all noun classes using various noun phrases and simple sentences.
The system guides from phase to phase, and the use of own vocabulary is not allowed.
In addition, there is also a fancy introduction to the learning system, both in English and Finnish.
IMPORTANT! the learning systems described above are under the tab Tagger, not here under the tab Learn.
Guided lessons on verbs
There is a large number of learning modules on the use of verbs in this location. Each module should be learned in the order given.
Each assignment gives the morphological analysis of the structure of the entered word sequence.
Also information on the basics of the language is included into each assignment.
The verb learning modules can be learned in any order. However, the preferable order is on the web page.
